What are the DYS disorders for adults ?

Dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysphasia, dyspraxia, dysgraphia…

DYS- means “dysfunction”.
There are different learning disabilities that can appear at an early age, which have nothing to do with intelligence level.

The “dys” disorders are:

  • Dyslexia: reading disorder (acquisition of written language),
  • Dysorthography: difficulties in acquiring spelling skills,
  • Dyscalculia: disorders of numerical activities (calculation, arithmetic…),
  • Dysgraphia: difficulties with writing and drawing,
  • Dysphasia: language disorder (oral expression),
  • Dyspraxia: disorder of motor development and writing (gestures, motor skills),
  • Dyschrony: difficulties with the notion of time.

It is often the case that an adult suffers from several “dys” disorders at the same time.

Your most frequent difficulties are reading, writing, spelling, expressing yourself correctly or calculating…
You may also have concerns about slowness and rhythm, which do not correspond to the social norm.

Whatever your age, we have methods, tools and strategies that can support you in your daily life. We have the solution that will meet your needs in a specific way.
