We speak of an IQ (Quotient\nIntellectual) of 130 or more on an efficiency scale.\nintellectual.<\/p>\n\n<p>A\nhigh-potential children are characterized by <strong>their way of thinking and their\nemotional functioning<\/strong>. For this reason, it must be clearly understood in this\nintellectual and emotional functioning, so that its resources, which are very\nto develop fully.<\/p>\n\n<p>The child\nhigh-potential also has its own special features.\npsychological<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Events\npsychological<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Overdeveloped sensory perception (Hyperesthesia)<\/li><li>High emotional reactivity<\/li><li>The will to control<\/li><li>Insistence on fending for oneself<\/li><li>Great empathy<\/li><\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>Events\ncognitive<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Language precocity<\/li><li>Intellectual hypermaturity<\/li><li>Fast processing speed<\/li><li>Intellectual over-investment<\/li><li>Difficulty coping with effort<\/li><li>Intuitive, non-deductive processing<\/li><li>Lack of method<\/li><li>Global and simultaneous vision<\/li><li>Tree thinking<\/li><\/ul>\n\n<p>A\nhigh-potential child may experience difficulties at school, despite his or her\nextraordinary abilities and have to cope with disorders\nlearning. Traditional teaching is not always adapted to his needs.\nway of thinking. As a result, many high-potential children fail at school.<\/p>\n\n<p>According to\nspecialists, the HPI child can be either divergent or convergent:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>divergent reasoning <\/strong>is identified during the IQ test.<br\/>It includes an excellent memory, respect for authority and high motivation for all school tasks.<\/li><li><strong>convergent reasoning <\/strong>is characterized by great empathy for others, a very good ability to adapt to change, a facility for conceiving new ideas and a high level of motivation for the subjects that interest him.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n<p>Visit\nHPI children generally present an intellectual developmental advance of\ntwo years or more than other children. This precocity causes this\nwhat psychologists call <strong>internal dyssynchrony<\/strong>. This\ndyssynchrony stems, on the one hand, from a gap between the development\nthe child&#8217;s emotional and psychomotor maturation and, on the other hand, his\nintellectual development. This is why the verbal performance of HPI\nare better than their writing or drawing.<\/p>\n\n<p>From\nWhat&#8217;s more, in addition to this internal dyssynchrony, there&#8217;s <strong>a<\/strong> so-called <strong>\nsocial dyssynchrony<\/strong>, when these children&#8217;s school and\/or family environment\nlogically expects behaviour that corresponds to the norm of their environment.\nage, which is not easy for HPI.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Types\nof high-potential children<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Despite\ntheir above-average intelligence, HPI children are not\nnecessarily top of the class. Whether because of\nlearning difficulties in certain subjects, the boredom it can cause\na lack of self-confidence, or poor integration into the community.\nIn the classroom, <strong>a third of HPI children perform at a level\nbelow that predicted by their IQ<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n<p>He\nThere are six different profiles of HPI children:<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>The student\nefficient<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The student\nperformant is a perfectionist who applies himself enormously. He enjoys being\nrecognized by adults in general and teachers in particular. He\nremains very conformist. His school results are very good.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>The student\nstand-alone<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>He\nhas a great capacity for self-directed learning. He feels a great\nself-confidence and a definite appetite for knowledge. He does not hesitate to\ntake risks if necessary. He&#8217;s persistent, accepts failure\nand challenges herself. HPI children are good at expressing their knowledge.\nHer school results and social integration are very good.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>The student\neffaced, inhibited<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>He\nhas low self-esteem and difficulty admitting his abilities. He\nseeks above all to be accepted by the other students in his class. His\nschool results are average to good.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>The student\nat risk<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>He\nis very often on the defensive. Subconsciously, he feels angry at\nadults who can&#8217;t adapt to their environment and to their children.\nneeds. At-risk students tend to isolate themselves. His school results are\nbad or average.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>The student\nprovocative\/creative<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The student\nprovocateur is bored in class and lets it be known. He is often on the\nand provokes his teachers. It is, however, competitive and\ngets involved when a subject interests her. He is very creative and non-conformist.\nHis school results are inconsistent.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>The student\nwith disorders<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The\nan HPI student with a learning disability (dyslexia, learning difficulties, etc.).\nattention, etc.). He is often anxious and lacking in confidence, with a\ngreat sensitivity.<br\/>\nHe works slowly and doesn&#8217;t always finish his exercises for fear of\nfailure; his skills are diminished.
